  • We had a magical stay at Budgalong Lodge. The setting is gorgeous, in splendid country, with amazing views all the way to the Coolah Tops in one direction and to the Warrumbungles in another. We enjoyed some great walks in around the property, including up to the lovely "Sunset Lookout" not far away. The rooms are simple but luxurious, the beds comfy, and we had everything we needed for a beautiful, romantic stay. Enjoying the stars by the light of the firepit and in the morning watching the sun rise from our high perch above the valley were among our favourite highlights. Our hosts--Mary, Rob, Nick and Maddie were all so welcoming and friendly. We hope to be back to Budgalong Lodge soon. Sarah and Bates from Sydney.

  • Budgalong offers an authentic and unique tented camp experience on a large working farming and grazing property - a true taste of the bush. From the tents' verandah, on a clear day, you can see to the hills of Mudgee in the east and all the way to the Coolah Tops in the north. It's close enough to have day trips to Dubbo Zoo or possibly the Mudgee wineries or historic Gulgong. This is not some tent set up in a carpark or on someone's driveway, it's a genuine experience - the privilege of privacy with big skies and open space, abundant wildlife and wilderness. Wake to a brilliant sunrise accompanied by birdsong. The tent is thoughtfully designed and very well presented with two bedrooms [with their own bathrooms with terrific showers], a comfortable living area with smart kitchen, and large deck with a bbq or an outdoor fire if you'd prefer. Everything you might need is provided and if not the hosts are all to happy to help out. We stayed with a couple of international friends who were simply blown away by their genuine 'Australian' outback experience.

  • Such a beautiful location with the most amazing accomodation. Everything you could want or need provided in a tranquil surrounding. Stunning walks through the paddocks with great 360 degree views. Rooms: Super comfortable beds with great linen and styling throughout. Nearby activities: Many great walks on the property to explore and do not have to leave the peaceful environment. Mudgee wine region under an hours drive if you want to explore the area more for a delicious lunch and wine tasting.

  • What an experience, can’t wait to visit Budgalong again. We arrived to the most beautifully peaceful and stunning area, the winter air was clear and crisp and we felt instant calm as we stood on the verandah and soaked in the beauty. The tent is so cleverly designed and fits perfectly with its surroundings. We stayed with friends who came up from Sydney and it was the perfect place to relax and catch up. Our stay was very comfortable with the luxurious king sized beds and private ensuites. We cooked a leg of lamb on the bbq, but could have easily used the oven in the fully equiped kitchen. We enjoyed walks around the property and saw lots of enchanting little wallabies amongst the breathtaking scenery. In the evenings we lit a fire in the fire pit and enjoyed the awe inspiring display of the Milky Way. We ended our days replenished and relaxed! We’ll be back!
