The Lodge
About The Tents
At Budgalong, our vision extends beyond hospitality. Each tent has been thoughtfully positioned to sit within the landscape, designed to honour the land while offering comfort, privacy and quiet luxury. We aim to tread lightly — preserving the natural beauty of Spicers Creek while inviting guests into it.
Inspired by the simplicity of authentic safari life and shaped by the rhythm of our working farm, our tents combine durability with refinement. Crafted in canvas and finished with locally sourced interiors, they reflect both strength and warmth. Open-plan living, expansive windows and king ensuite bedrooms create a sense of spaciousness, while natural textures and tones echo the surrounding bushland. Every detail is considered to foster stillness, belonging and a seamless connection to the outdoors.
Budgalong offers two private tented camps, located in secluded pockets of the property with sweeping views across the landscape. Designed for families or friends, each camp offers space to disconnect from the noise of everyday life.
More than a place to stay, our lodges are an invitation — to gather, to slow down, and to experience the land up close.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Accommodation
Mountview Camp
Mountview Camp is named after the property that the tents are currently situated on. With a vast, expansive view over the Spicers Creek region, the camp offers endless beauty standing steadfast amongst the trees.
Inspired by the natural surrounds, the safari-style camp embodies the relaxing and earthy tones of the environment, perfect for families or couples wanting an escape, and to fully immerse themselves in a country experience.
Fairfield Camp
Fairfield Camp is situated on a spacious hill with sweeping views over the country-side. The camp mimics the sense of clarity and open-space from the original property bought in 2021.
A sense of calm and clarity will be experienced as soon as you enter the Fairfield Camp, with awe-inspiring, sweeping views over the Spicers Creek hills. The perfect place for a sunset picnic. This camp is well suited for families.
On the Farm
Time here can be as still or as active as you choose. You might spend the day reading in the shade, listening to birdsong and watching the light shift across the hills. Or you may prefer to head out on foot or bike, following bush tracks through rolling country and discovering the native wildlife that calls this place home.
Activities on the property include bushwalking, birdwatching, mountain biking, stargazing and evenings gathered around the fire. The beauty of the farm lies in its simplicity — space to move, to breathe and to reconnect.
Beyond the Property
For those wishing to explore further afield, the region offers a variety of day trips. Dubbo’s Western Plains Zoo, Wellington Caves and Mount Arthur National Park are all within reach, offering opportunities for family adventures and natural discovery.
The Mudgee region, known for its food and wine, is also nearby. Cellar doors, local producers and country cafés provide a taste of the area’s character — an extension of the community and landscape that shape life at Budgalong.
