Self-Guided Retreat

Rest, Restore and Find Your Rhythm Again

Moore Nourishing Life x Budgalong Lodge

Welcome to your Self-Guided Retreat

Budgalong Lodge is the ideal place to rest and recharge. Removed from the distractions and noise of everyday living, this guide will help you make the most of your stay.

This guide has been designed by Monica Moore from Moore Nourishing Life in collaboration with Budgalong Lodge.

It is designed with the purpose to encourage you to take time for yourself, to fully connect with the beautiful surroundings and ultimately to rest, restore and find your rhythm.

“A mind that’s too full of information has no space for inspiration.”- James McCrae

 FAQs

  • Everything is doable and achievable, even if you haven’t done meditation before - if you can breathe, you can do this meditation.

  • If you say you can’t, you won’t, but if you give it a go, you just might.

Budgalong is a great place to begin to quiet down the thoughts and processing you do in a normal day and begin to tune into the feeling of the breath moving in and out of the body. Sometimes the cockatoos can get a little noisy...that maybe your only distraction.

I have given you a short, guided meditation.

Give it a go…you might surprise yourself.

  • Meals are simplified here at Budgalong. Local produce cooked simply is all you need.

Order a Paddock to Plate box to complement your additional groceries. Make it simple - bring a ready made soup or salad, cook some steak over the fire, eggs can be done a tonne of different ways, bring a deconstructed cooked chook. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Just nourishing. To help, I have provided a link to a couple of things you might prepare at home, so it makes your time at Budgalong a decision free time.

  • No Problem.I like to go to bed when Nanas do. If you get up later, that’s when your day will begin.

Your day will stretch into the night longer than mine…disco nights are over by 9pm these days for me. I want you to look at YOUR life and YOUR routines. This is not one size fits all.

We are all different. A day is a day. We all have the same amount of hours to work with. We also operate at different time frames and frequencies during the day. Getting to know HOW you operate is always one of my objectives. I’m not wanting you to live MY life, just integrate some relevant techniques into your life.

  • I don’t know, maybe … because you matter. And little incremental steps create big changes over time.

Start small. Depending on circumstances, taking a whole day may be impossible. The structure of this self-guided retreat allows for spaces in the day for you to fit everything in. I hope you can carve out one whole day just for you, but if you can’t, here is a suggested schedule if you need to take 3 days to complete the whole program …

Day 1: meditation, breakfast, a walk, and nighttime meditation while doing your away from home job.

Day 2: walk, lunch and the yoga session.

Day 3: listen to the workshop and do the contemplations before taking a bath with a face mask on, some candles and beautiful music.

That way you spread the love, and you are making some part of each day nourishing for you.

The whole point is for you to see that you CAN integrate nourishing practices into EVERY day.
